Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year!

I hope this letter finds you and your family well as we approach another exciting academic year at Palm School. On behalf of our dedicated faculty and staff, I extend a warm welcome to both new and returning families. We're thrilled to have you as part of our school community and look forward to a year filled with growth, learning, and achievement.

At Palm School, we emphasize the importance of strong attendance for academic success and personal development. Our goal remains a minimum of 96% attendance throughout the school year. Regular attendance enhances students' educational progress and fosters a sense of commitment and responsibility. If your child needs to be absent, please notify our school office at 559-528-4751 to clear their absence.

Our commitment to literacy remains stronger than ever. "Literacy is King" at Palm School, and we're dedicated to equipping our students with the skills necessary to become proficient readers. This year, we're aiming for 90% of our 2nd-grade students to read at or above grade level. To support this goal, we encourage all students to engage in at least 30 minutes of independent reading daily. Your support in fostering your child's reading habits is crucial to their success.

We're also focusing on overall academic improvement, with a target of a 5% increase in our CAASPP (California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress) scores. This goal reflects our commitment to continuous improvement and academic excellence.

Maintaining a safe and positive school culture remains a top priority. Our Panther P.R.I.D.E expectations continue to guide us in promoting kindness, empathy, and responsible behavior. We encourage each child to embody these principles: be Positive, Respectful, show Integrity, be Determined, and strive for Excellence in all they do.

We invite you to join us for our Back-to-School Night on August 15, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. This event is an excellent opportunity to meet your child's teacher, learn about the curriculum, and ask any questions you may have.
